Naveed Ahmed Chowdhury serves as a Research Fellow at the Center for Community Progress where he works with quantitative data analysis and visualization centered on neighborhood demographics and revitalization patterns in America’s middle-income neighborhoods.

 

Prior to joining the Center for Community Progress, Naveed worked in education policy with American University as the Program Specialist for the university’s online Public Policy Program. His work ranged from data collection and quantitative analysis of exit survey data as well as database management. As the Program Specialist, Naveed created the university’s database on exit survey information for online students through utilizing statistical tools of analysis.

 

Naveed previously worked as a Research Associate in a Bangladesh-based think-tank called Policy Research Institute, where his responsibilities ranged from project appraisal and gauging financial viability of new projects to designing technical proposals as well as budgets for the firm. In addition, he was tasked with closely monitoring and collecting data on a wide range of socio-economic issues, such as poverty, income inequality, environment as well as international trade.

 

Naveed received his Master of Public Policy (MPP) with a focus on Advanced Policy from American University, where his general coursework covered economic policy as well as international policy.  He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Chicago.
