Land Banks as a Redevelopment Tool

April 2011

By Dan Kildee, Center for Community Progress

Community Progress President and former Genesee County (MI) Treasurer uses this presentation to explore how regional land banks can be used to redevelop some of the most distressed properties.

Kildee first gave the presentation during the 2011 Brownfields Conference in Philadelphia.  The pictorial presentation shows several stark examples of reclamation developments land banks in Michigan have successfully completed, including the renovation of the historic Durant Hotel in Flint.
