Search for a President/CEO for the Center for Community Progress
Center for Community Progress | 1001 Connecticut Avenue N.W., Suite 1235 | Washington, D.C. 20036
P: 877-542-4842 | F: 202-223-2120 | www.communityprogress.net
The Board of Directors of the Center for Community Progress is initiating a search for President/CEO in the likely event Dan Kildee, who has taken a leave of absence from that position, is successful in his bid for Congress from Michigan’s 5th District. The position is expected to become available in mid-November 2012. Dan began his leave on May 17th; Amy Hovey, CP’s current Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, who is not a candidate for this position, has assumed the duties of President and CEO during the interim period.
Working with Dan and the staff, the Board has articulated the qualifications they are looking for in a candidate. The ideal candidate would be a leader who is highly regarded by peer organizations, has demonstrated leadership skills – both in managing an organization and inspiring policy makers, funders, activists and government leaders alike. Given the substance of our work, the candidate would have an advanced degree in Law, Planning, Business, Social Work, Education or Communications.
Additionally, preference will be given to candidates who have ten or more years of experience that includes managing professionals, working with local, state and national appointed and elected officials, fundraising, public speaking and orchestrating multi-organizational collaborations. Experience with Board relations and management of a multi-million dollar budget is also highly desirable.
Please forward recommendations for this position or state your own interest before June 15th via e-mail to the Chair of the Search Committee Robert Beckley at email@example.com.
Recommendations should be transmitted, if possible, in a PDF format, contain your contact information and include a one-paragraph description of the candidate. If you prefer to submit your nomination anonymously, CCP will honor that request. The search committee will follow up with requests for interest, resumes and references for those found to be qualified.
