Justin Godard serves as Program Associate for National Leadership and Education and works closely with the vice president and director in developing unique and effective approaches for fostering collaborative problem solving and learning opportunities for practitioners and communities.
Prior to joining the organization, Justin studied at Virginia Tech where he earned both a bachelors degree in Political Science as well as a masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning. His masters studies primarily focused on policies and frameworks surrounding community development, place making, social equity, and culminated in a project which examined effective approaches toward fostering equitable transit-oriented development in Washington’s Historic Anacostia community.
While pursuing his graduate studies, Justin served as a Policy Intern with Reconnecting America and as a Research Assistant to Mariia Zimmerman. In both positions, his work primarily focused on supporting research efforts and assisting in the develop reports and publications discussing issues such as transportation investment strategies, transit corridor planning, transit friendly infrastructure, and livability focused grants programs. Now based in Washington, DC; Justin has spent time in New York, Oklahoma, North Carolina, and Virginia.
